The Center For Mental Health

Mental illness does not affect just one person; it affects everyone around them as well. This includes parents, children, friends, co-workers, classmates… in essence the entire community. Mental illness refers to a wide range of mental health conditions — disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. Examples of mental illness include depression, anxiety disorders, attention-deficit/Hyperactivity disorder, bi-polar, personality disorders, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictive behaviors just to name a few. You may ask, where do I go for help if I or someone I may know has an illness? The answer is The Center for Mental Health.

The Center was established in 1974 to serve the residents of nine counties. In 1997 the center began to provide services to four additional counties, expanding services to 13 counties total. We currently operate offices in Great Falls, Havre, Chinook, Cut Bank, Helena, Conrad, Choteau and Shelby. We are a private nonprofit center that offers a variety of services to the public. The Center accepts Medicaid, Medicare, Mental Health Service Plan (MSHP), CHIPS, Tri-Care and all private insurance.

The Center for Mental Health offers an array of services from adults, families, individuals and children. Services include, but are not limited to psychiatric assessment, crisis stabilization, day treatment, adult and youth case management, medication management, homeless outreach, supported employment, in home family services, adult foster care, group homes, individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy.

The Center’s multi-disciplinary staff of over 300 includes Board Certified Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Master level Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors, APRN/RN/LPN Nurses and Bachelor level mental health workers, and Case Managers. We are here to provide quality care, diversified programming and a full range of community based services.

Being diagnosed with a mental illness can be just as overwhelming as the illness itself. The Center for Mental Health exists to help with the journey of recovery. Come check out our facilities and talk with one of our staff to help you through this difficult process. Do not let your struggles become your identity, we offer hope and solutions.
