Margot Kidder

Margot Kidder has struggled with bipolar since a suicide attempt in her teens. Her three marriages all ended in divorce.

The star of the Superman movies and The Amityville Horror has soared high in the sky (with Superman) and plunged to the depths of depression and despair. Through it all, she has shown that she has the strength to bounce back.

Internationally recognized as the definitive Lois Lane, the Genie Award-winning actor, director and producer has touched audiences with a distinctive blend of wide-eyed vulnerability and wise-cracking spirit. However, it was not as a career professional that this courageous woman struck her most resounding note with the public. It was her all too publicized struggle with a bipolar disorder that revealed her true resilience.

Today, Margot's career accomplishments are proliferating and her life is firmly in her own hands. An active supporter of the Peace Movement and Amnesty International, and an advocate for mental health and alternative treatments, she fights for herself and others against the stigmas of psychiatric labels. By choosing to dwell on the great joys and rare blessings of her adventure-filled life, Margot shares her hope of reflecting to the world the peace one finds within.
